MAIN PRESS CENTRE

RACE DAY April 18th 2004

This year the Main Press Centre for the Flora London Marathon will remain at the Tower Hotel headquarters for race day instead of moving to the ICA.

The Main Press Centre will show the split feed of the men and women's races.

The winners' press conferences will take place only at the Main Press Centre.

Other elite athlete interviews will take place at the Main Press Centre.

A Media press pass will be needed to access the Main Press Centre.

THE MALL SUB-CENTRE

A separate small Sub-Centre will be set up on The Mall on race day with limited telephone and fax facilities.

Space is restricted to national media with a specific interest in celebrities and human interest stories.

There will be no access to elite athletes at the Sub-Centre or anywhere near the finish.

The television at the Sub-Centre will only carry the main BBC feed which includes celebrity interviews en route. There will be no split feed showing separate men and women's races.

The Mall Sub-Centre will require a separate Media/Sub-Centre pass. National media and agencies will take priority in the allocation of these passes.

A restricted area of The Mall Sub-Centre is available to photographers with bibs. A separate pass will not be needed.

Packed lunches will be available and tea will be served nearby at The Bronze Teapot.
